Itinerary Details

Day 1 – Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta – Ho Chi Minh City

10h30: Pick up port gate (200 meters from cruise terminal)

Take 1.5 hours’ drive escaping the crowded and chaotic Saigon for My Tho and Ben Tre in the Mekong delta. This upper part of the Mekong delta with fertile soil and abundant water supply is home of evergreen vegetation and kingdom of beautiful tropical fruits. Today you will have a chance to discover the stunning landscape and local life on the banks of the world's 12th-longest river.

Upon arrival in My Tho city, you will take a boat cruise on the mighty Mekong River. Our local guide will take us to visit an island with lush tropical gardens where we have a chance to sample tropical fruit freshly picked from trees.
Continue with another visit to some local cottage industries where you will observe the process of manual work to make up beautiful handicrafts and sweets from coconut and rice before taking motor cart for a ride around islands of Ben Tre province. During the ride, you will have some stops to visit farms and local home for local interaction and to learn about traditional lifestyles of the people here.
Lunch is served with local specialties in a fresh garden before you take a sit on sampan for a fascinating rowing trip to explore the mangroves of the Mekong Delta along meandering canals. You then board the big boat to get back to the My Tho harbor for the bus drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City – Cuchi tunnel – Ho Chi Minh City

07h00 Pick up by driver & tour guide at port gate (200 ms walk from cruise terminal) & depart for Cu chi tunnels - famous war tactic of both the French and American wars.

This underground city consists of more than 200 km of narrow tunnels that create a compete village with hideouts, shelters, fighting bunkers, hospital, school, living rooms and so on with air filters, sewage systems, and protective boobie-traps with false tunnels and dead ends.

This system was dug and used as a stronghold of Viet Minh and Viet Cong during the anti-French and American War from 1948 to 1975.

It is the chance for you to experience how the Vietcong lived and fought during that time and learn more about Vietnam War.

After the tour, transfer back to HCM City. Drop at port 1.5 hrs before cruise departure time
