OVERVIEW
Ko Samui (or Koh Samui), also often locally shortened to Samui, is an island and city off the east coast of the Kra Isthmus, Thailand. Geographically in the Chumphon Archipelago, it is part of Surat Thani Province, though as of 2012, Ko Samui was granted municipal status and thus is now locally self-governing. Ko Samui is Thailand's second-largest island after Phuket, with an area of 228.7 km2, a population of over 63,000 and a hotel occupancy rate of 73% as the number of visitors increases. Abundant tourist resources, sandy beaches, coral reefs, and coconut trees are present on the island.

First, admire the golden Big Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Yai) in Koh Fann. Sitting 15-meter tall on the north coast of the island, the large statue of Lord Buddha is visible from kilometers away. Next stop is Wat Laem Suwanaram (Jao Mae Guan Imm). Visit this temple which is over 100 years old and Chinese Lady Monk or Jao Mae Kuan Imm. See the large Buddha statue placed in the middle of a pond full of fish. Enjoy both the beauty of the temple and understand more about the Buddhist religion and those people who come to attend meditation courses.
Then head to Chaweng Beach, the island’s busiest and biggest town, for some free time on your own. Spend about an hour relaxing on powder-soft white sand, shopping for souvenirs and photographing the stunning scenery.
Continuing to Samui’s most amusing sight that surely raises some chuckles – the Grandmother and Grandfather Rocks by Lamai Beach. Then, You’ll be served savory local cuisine in midday at the beach restaurant.(OWN COST)
