As the capital of Vietnam for almost a thousand years, Hanoi is considered one of the main cultural centres of Vietnam, where most Vietnamese dynasties have left their imprint. Even though some relics have not survived through wars and time, the city still has many interesting cultural and historic monuments for visitors and residents alike. The city hosts more cultural sites than any city in Vietnam, and boasts more than 1,000 years of history, and that of the past few hundred years has been well preserved.

Itinerary Details

Day 1: Halong Bay - Hanoi

08h00 Pick up by driver and tour guide & depart for Hanoi (driving is 3.5hrs)
Arrival at Hanoi, you will firstly stop at Temple of Literature. In 1076 Quoc Tu Giam -Vietnam's first university, also referred to as Van Mieu, was established within a temple to educate Vietnam's royalty, mandarins and members of the elite. The university functioned for an incredible 700 years and its gardens and well-preserved architecture offer a fascinating glimpse into Vietnam’s past.
The One Pillar Pagoda, founded by King Ly Thai To in 1049 will be visited next. This structure is one of Vietnam’s most iconic temples. Close by is the mausoleum of the historic figure and father of modern Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh (viewed from outside)
Continue to picturesque West Lake and the Buddhist pagoda of Tran Quoc a short visit.

Following by a fascinating walking tour that will introduce to you some of Vietnam’s finest authentic street foods. Our guide take you wandering to some typical places, market to get overview Vietnamese food, talking with artisan foodstuffs, street food vendors, stall holders, hear stories of the ingredients and history of Hanoi’s food culture and sample the most famous dish of Northern Vietnamese cuisine – Cha Ca La Vong.

After lunch visit Women museum & enjoy Water puppet show before taking an hour trip on a cyclo (pedicap) going through Old Quarter. This bustling area of narrow streets and alleys is home to literally thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers. It's a great place to explore with plenty of photo opportunities all around you.

The cyclo ride will end at a nice coffee shop in the Old Quarter, for a cup of famous “egg coffee”

Return to hotel, free time at own pace

Day 2: Hanoi - Halong Bay

08h00 Pick up at hotel, transfer back cruise
11h30 Arrival back cruise terminal, end tour!

(Ship will dock at New international cruise terminal then by the ship, there are lots of shuttle waiting to take passengers out). Just get in one of them. Shuttle will take you to the shuttle to the back yard of the cruise passenger’s station, guide pick you up at the place shuttle drop you
  • Drop off: Same place as pick up
